Kyrie

I think this is my husband’s favorite. When I first heard the song after many years, I didn’t realize I'd heard it before until the chorus, when I couldn’t stop singing. Just ignore the verses. 3:04

Making Time

I didn't think it was a true key change but I played along on guitar.  It gets funky before the change and I was confused but at 1:51 it officially plays the same chord progression a whole step higher than the first verse.
This groovy example of all that is rock and roll moves from D to E at 1:51.

634-5789

I love Wilson Pickett.  I never heard this song until I was cruising through the town of Trentonia with the Sirius blasting and boom there it was.  What a sweet jam, loving the bari sax.
Key change at 2:30. Long live Lieutenant Dan.

Under The Sea

Nobody can rock an Octopus' Garden like Ringo and the Beatles...except maybe Sebastian from the Little Mermaid.  Dig the classic Disney key change at 2:52.  One of my all time favorite songs to jam out to.

I'm So Excited

Daisy and I were taking a drive in our little car (Dumbo) when I'm So Excited by the Pointer Sisters came on the radio.

"This is one of my old standards from my DJ'ing days", I said.

"Some key change", said Daisy, at around 2:30 on the track.  She's starting to get the hang of this.

It really is an epic key change.  Hard to believe it escaped our attention/memory for so long!

Happy Birthday Sweet 16

In the tradition of writing love songs for 16 year old girls, Neil Sedaka gives us a birthday surprise key change.
Also this song is pretty much a rip off of Take Good Care of My Baby.

She'd Rather Be With Me

In my journey through songs I might want to play on my baritone uke, I came across this classic/old favourite of mine - She'd Rather Be With Me by the Turtles.  A lovely little key change through the bridge to the final verse and chorus.

Cupid I've Loved You For a Long Time

Cupid I've Loved You a Long Time is such a funny disco medley. This key change comes when The Spinners reprise the first song into a key change.
Also special note, this rendition has got to be the reason why Rod Stewart coved it as well.

Summertime Blues

This is one in a string of key changes I remembered because I was playing them on my guitar and I changed key without thinking about it.  One of my all-time favorite albums/bands/songs/covers/live jams: The Who - Summertime Blues.  What a full frontal assault of big cockery by Pete, Keith, John, and Rodgie.  If you turn up the volume loud enough, it'll kick your teeth in.
Key change at 2:24

Skokiaan

I usually try to avoid posting Jazz tunes but this is one of my all time favorite songs and Louie's band knocks this shit out of the park.

Skokiaan refers to refers to an illegal self-made alcoholic beverage typically brewed over one day that may contain a dangerous ingredient, such as methylated spirits.

Nothing Gonna Change My Love For You

I wrote a parody of this song back in the early 1990s, replacing each line or phrase in the verses with a well-known line from a love song, making my version "The Ultimate Love Song".  The choruses went "Nothing's gonna change the way I sound..." etc. It was a hit at the Edinburgh fringe for many years.  The couplet running up to the key change went "This style's the one for me, the only thing I change is key".

It should have popped into my head sooner.

If I Could Build My Whole World Around You

The Prince of Soul and one of Philly's greatest all time talents rock out this classic Motown hit with a key change at 1:22. Tammi Terrell dated David Ruffin, Sam Cooke, and James Brown but never Marvin Gaye.  She died of a brain tumor in 1970 at the age of 24.
