You Haven't Seen The Last of Me

Editor's Note:
For a moment I thought we ran out of key changes but hits keep on truckin'.

I reached out to the internets and so many people submitted songs we never listed. There are so many great modulations I never heard so I'm excited to start listing.
First up is You Haven't Seen the Last of Me was submitted by David in South Philly.

Born Too Late

The grocery store in South Philly is always playing the best oldies.
Obviously I love the key change and the sax reverb but most of all the lyrics are so sleazy.

Build Me Up Buttercup

Not sure why I waited this long to post one of my favorite songs of all time.
I've been hearing it on the radio a bunch lately and makes me remember convincing my high school band to cover it in my parent's basement.
Anyway, the key change is on the fade out.

The Monkees Theme (Hey Hey We're the Monkees)

More Monkees!
Also I can't believe it took this long to get the Monkees Theme on here.
Starts in Am and goes to C for the for chorus and then jumps up to A major for last chorus. A wonderful jump/parallel major from the verse. Brilliant as always.

Sorry I haven't posted the last few weeks. Life got in the way for a moment!

When Love Comes Knockin' (At Your Door)

I've been listening to More of the Monkees all week since I got my record player working.
Love this song written by Carole Bayer Sager and Neil Sedaka. Great half step key change in the middle that I'm sure that was Sedaka's contribution.

One Toke Over The Line

I heard this on 4/20 when the radio plays all the funniest drug songs.
I love this especially since it's from the Lawrence Welk show.

Heart

I heard this song earlier in the week and have listened to it on loop ever since.
I'm a well known electric guitar hater but I love this solo. Perfect performance, tone and reverb on a really fun mock oldie from the 80s. The key change is obvious full of cheese.

Sooner or Later

This is a great song that changes key when "Love is gonna win."
A weird promo video that doesn't feature Creed Bratton enough.
Anyway, a half step up by the Grass Roots.

My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)

This tune is David Ruffin's first single after leaving The Temptations. It's bittersweet tone is a sad reflection to his relationship with his old group.
However a fantastic key change at 2:15.

How Will I Know

Wikipedia says this song was originally intended for Janet Jackson, but she passed on it. The key change is heralded by a saxophone that was not present for the first 3/4 of the song, because obviously. It is sneaky though- sounds like it goes up, but it when the chorus comes around again it’s actually sung lower. Oh man the 80s were great.
